Custom Crafts and Scents was founded from a love of home, family, and the comfort found in familiar scents. Founded by Natalie Barnes, a wife, mother, and career woman, the brand was created as a way to unwind, reset, and transform everyday spaces after long days—turning ordinary moments into something calm, warm, and meaningful.
My passion for home fragrance began long before this business existed. I once relied on plug-ins to keep my home smelling fresh, until I was introduced to a candle maker at my former job who shared a scent that would later become my favorite—Merlin’s Forest. I fell in love instantly and filled my home with it. When I later left that job and lost contact, I found myself missing that fragrance and searching for something more intentional than plug-ins.
That search led me to a local candle supplier in Georgia, where I finally found the fragrance oil I loved. I began using it in warming dishes throughout my home—but because I used it so often, it didn’t last long. Curious and determined, I began researching how to create my own home fragrance products. During that journey, I discovered wax melts and learned that some commercial home fragrance products can contain ingredients I wasn’t comfortable using in my home.
What started as a personal solution soon turned into a passion. I began making natural soy wax melts for my own space, then gifting them to family and friends. As I shared what wax melts were and how to use them, I realized I wasn’t just sharing fragrance—I was sharing an experience centered on comfort, care, and home.
Choosing flameless home fragrance became a deliberate decision rooted in family, safety, and quality. As a wife and mother, keeping my home safe from unintentional fire was important to me, especially during busy days and evenings. Flameless options allow me to enjoy beautiful, long-lasting fragrance while creating a safer, more intentional environment for my family—without compromising quality or atmosphere.
Today, Custom Crafts and Scents offers thoughtfully crafted flameless home fragrance products, including wax melts, wickless candles, room and linen sprays, and diffusers. Each product is designed to help create inviting spaces where families gather, traditions are honored, and meaningful moments are made.
